LANCASTER Carl R. Spangler, 72, of Whitehall-Leader Nursing Home, formerly of Hershey, died yesterday in the home.
He was a retired shop foreman for Dechert Dynamics Corp., Palmyra; a former machinist at Hershey Chocolate Corp.; a World War II Navy veteran; and a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Hershey.
He was the widower of Florence E. Gilmore Spangler. Surviving are a son, Carl R. of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Lynda L. Kirkpatrick of Annville RD 3; a brother, Jacob G. of Libertyville, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in his church. Burial will be in Hershey Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
