Calvin W. Hafer, 62, of Belleman's Church Road, Dauberville, died Friday at 12:45 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 16. He was the husband of Alva C. (Rickenbach) Hafer. Born in Centre Township, he was a son of the late Lester W. and Emma B. (Graeff) Hafer. Hafer worked for many years as a foundryman in the Kutztown Foundry. He was later employed by the former Boyertown Auto Body, last working in 1989. He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Salem (Belleman's) Union Church, Centre Township. In the 1950's, Hafer was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lori L. Hafer, at home, a step-daughter, Kay A, wife of Dale Lonaberger, Shoemakersville, two brothers, William L, Greenfields, and George L, Leesport R.D. 2, and four sisters; Eleanor M., wife of Leon R. Spatz, Leesport, Mary Lou C. wife of Harold R. Frankhouser, and Consulla R. Yohn, both of Hyde Park, and Joan L., wife of Paul F. Henne, Shoemakersville. There is also a step-granddaughter. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc, Centerport. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Township.
