There is a David Kline b. 1807 who married a Catharine Renno and is buried in the Meyer Cemetery outside Greble, Lebanon County. He is clearly in my lineage, although the Strausstown Roots listing shows no parents, and only two children. Here is what Roots Web shows for him:
? Name: Jacob KLINE Father:David KLINE
Mother:Elisabeth BRENEISEN
MarriageBarbara MEYER
1. Jonas KLINE b: in Berks Co., PA
2. George KLINE b: in Berks Co., PA
3. Salome KLINE b: 27 OCT 1800 in Berks Co., PA
4. Elizabeth KLINE b: 28 APR 1805 in Berks Co., PA
5. David KLINE b: 7 MAR 1807 in Berks Co., PA
6. Benjamin KLINE
7. Jacob KLINE b: 8 JUN 1810 in Berks Co., PA
The father Jacob Kline is the one you have listed as born in 1775. His father is my g-g-g-g-g grandfather.
Also, the son Jacob Kline b. 8 Jun 1810 is also listed in Strausstown Roots as b. 1810 and married to Catharine Zimmerman.
If the Roots Web info does not appear to be accurate, then only connect David Kline b. 1807 to my lineage, otherwise you can use this info to expand my lineage a bit.
Two side notes:
What is interesting about the David Klein/Kline b. 1807 marriage to Catharine Renno is that it links me distantly to my new Amish neighbor who lives down the road in MD. His grandmother was a Renno, and I have traced her back to Catharine Renno. Just confirms to me the close association between the German Baptists and the Mennonites and the Amish back in the day.
Also, my wife and I will be in Williamsburg, VA in the middle of May, and I am trying to connect with the Linville Creek VA Church of the Brethren to see if I can get a tour of the John Kline homestead and possibly meet some of the family who are still in the area. John Kline b. 17 Jun 1797 was the grandson of George Klein Jr. b. 1740, the oldest son of Elder George Klein. John was an amazing Elder, doctor, and businessman in Virginia who was assassinated in 1864 by Confederate sympathizers. I have a photograph of him, which was taken a few years earlier than my current age, and I am seeing a very distinct similarity in the images.
