Paul A. "Butch" Beissel, Sr., 68, of Jefferson Township, passed away Friday, June 18, in his esidence.
Paul was married to June (Strause) Beissel. Paul and June were married 51 years on June 13, 2010.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William H. Beissel and Mabel (Lascomb) Beissel.
Paul was a mechanic for the former Marshall Chevrolet and Bob Fisher Chevrolet.
Paul retired from Dana Corp., Reading, where he was employed for 17 years.
Paul was a member of the Senior Berners at Bern Lutheran Church.
Paul was a member of the North End Rod and Gun Club in Reading.
Paul was a Chevrolet Antique Automobile enthusiast and an avid Dale Earnhart fan.
Additional survivors include three sons, Wesley H. Beissel and wife, Patricia, of New Schaefferstown; Donald C. Beissel and wife, Barbara, of Bernville; and Michael A. Beissel and wife, Annette, of Exeter Township; four brothers, Robert of Maidencreek Township., Kenneth of Leesport, Ronald of Muhlenberg Township, and William of Mohrsville; and three sisters, Sara Yoder of Centerport, Florence Reinhart of Leesport and Janice Hoffert of Hamburg.
There are four grandchildren; Laura and Ryan Beissel and Brian and Nicole Beissel.
Paul was predeceased by a son, Paul A. "Butch" Beissel, Jr., and a half brother, Richard Sallade.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 22 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville.
A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, June 25th, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, New Schaefferstown.
