Donald Lee Books, 66, of Upper Allen Twp., died Tuesday at home.
He was a retired teacher who had taught in the Mechanicsburg and West Shore school districts and at Messiah College; also had taught in schools in New York and North Carolina; a member of Christ Community Church, Lower Allen Twp., and the Prime Timers; a past president of the Mechanicsburg Kiwanis Club; and a volunteer with Second Chance Prison Ministries and the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg.
Surviving are his wife, Betty K. Books; a son, Matthew C. of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Lisa M. Williams of Hayward, Calif., and Stephanie Y. Hornberger of Mechanicsburg; five brothers, Marlin of Montgomery, Glenn of Millersburg, George of Mount Holly Springs, Harry of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Robert of Anchorage, Alaska; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in his church.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
