Earl J. Rapp, 91, of Wyomissing, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Heather Court at the Highlands at Wyomissing, where he had been a resident since April 8, 2009.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Samuel E. Rapp, and Marion L. (Regar) Rapp Hughes, and the stepson of the late William P. Hughes.
He was the husband of Audrey E. (Clements) Lachman Rapp, and the widower of Olive M. "Perry" (Jacoby) Rapp.
He was a 1935 graduate of Reading High School, and worked as a finance manager for the Glenn L. Martin Company, later known as Martin Marietta Co., in Maryland for 35 years, retiring in 1976, and became a member of the Retired Association of Martin Marietta.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elaine J. (Rapp) Steele of Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.; a grandcat, Freddie, and a godson, Rev. David P. Gehret of Baltimore.
Graveside services will take place Monday at 1 p.m. at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, Md., 21014. Rev. David P. Gehret officiating.
