Paul Raymond Adams, 69, died July 21, 2014 in his AlsaceTownship residence.
He was the husband of Linda Marie (Long) Adams, whom he married November 25, 1971. Born August 20, 1944 in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond Luther and Helen Elnore (Focht) Adams.
Paul was a 1962 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and attended Bucknell University for 2 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Paul was employed as an electronic technician with Western Electric/AT&T/Bell Labs/Lucent for 27 years, retiring in 2005.
He was a very active member of Zion Spies Evangelical Reformed Church, Alsace Township, where he had been an elder and served as a Sunday School Teacher. Paul enjoyed genealogy and listening to music, practical jokes and pun.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children: Scott P., husband of Gianna Adams of Bethlehem, GA; Melissa J. Adams of Alsace Township; and Elizabeth J. (Adams), wife of Jan-Michael Colna of Minersville, Schuylkill County. Also surviving is his sister, Janet M. (Adams), wife of Robert Blumenstine of Temple. There are five grandchildren: Emma, Zayn, Noah, Maryjane and Zander and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Lena also surviving.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Spies Zion Church, 310 Spies Church Road, (Alsace Township) Reading, PA 19606. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
