Dr. Richard J. Banning, 57, of 1500 Penn Drive, Andreas, died March 25 in his home. He was married to Linda L. (Raub) Banning.
He was a cardiologist with a practice in Tamaqua. Previously, he owned Banor Drug Store, Tamaqua. He was a 1968 graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and a 1978 graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Curtis A. and Margaret M. (Hebert) Banning.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.
He was a member of the Algerine's Hunting Club in north central Pennsylvania and a member of Tamaqua Masonic Lodge 238.
Survivors: Wife; son, Dr. Todd of Lehighton; daughter, Dr. Rebecca Bowden of Bradenton, Fla.; sister, Kay Orkin of Ashland, Schuylkill County; two grandchildren.
Services: private, at the convenience of the family.
