Merle and Ruth had two daughters, Bernie and Joanne. Ruth gave Joanne, who was 6 or 7, to friends after Merle died. Ruth married, unknown, 3rd soon after Merle died, that lasted for less than a year. That husband stole some her inheritance from Merle. Ruth operated a bar/restaurant in Philadelphia and later ended up on the Jersey shore working in hotels. Bernie married a bartender,Jack Murphy, and was a waitress, they had no children. Ruth lived with them at the end of her life. Jack had a son, John Murphy, Jr from a previous marriage. Joanne married unknown and had two daughters who live (ca)2005, in Boston, She (Joanne) told her daughters her mother (Ruth) "hated her" and gave her away.
