John J. Anspach, 87, died June 20 at 7:16 p.m. in his residence in Wyomissing. He was the husband of Catherine E. (Williams) Anspach. Born in Robesonia, he was a son of the late Robert and Annie (Klopp) Anspach. Anspach was employed for 24 years as a pest control technician by J.C. Ehrlich Co. Inc., Spring Township, retiring in 1979. An Army veteran of World War II, he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He later served in the Army Reserves until his retirement. Anspach was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, West Lawn. He served as commander of the Oley American Legion Post 878 from 1963 to 1964. Anspach is also survived by a son, Russell J. Anspach, Sugarland, Texas; and a foster son, Michael P. Weyandt, Reading. Other survivors include three sisters: Kathryn (Anspach) Fidler, Wyomissing; and Sara (Anspach) Messner and Margaret (Anspach) Strause, both of Sinking Spring. There are also four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a foster daughter, Rose M. (Weyandt) Brown. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Bean Funeral Homes Inc., Sinking Spring. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
