WESTFIELD. Steven L. Gibson, 55, of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, November 12. He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Classical High School, where he was a star soccer player and friend to all. He loved sports and was awarded a soccer scholarship to C. W. Post College and then transferred to and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After graduating he worked for Keebler Company, completing his service with them as the Atlantic Region Sales Manager. His charisma and genuine love of people made him a natural leader and outstanding sales manager. Although unable to continue this profession, he continued to be an inspiration to all whose lives he touched. He was predeceased by his father James Gibson. He is survived by his mother Margaret Gibson, of Port St. Lucie, Fl.; his wife of 32 years, Leah; his children, Sarah and Steven M., both of Westfield; his brother Robert and wife Jeanne of Jensen Beach, FL and family. His extended family includes his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Lemmon of Los Osos, CA; the Lemmon family of Westlake Village, CA, the Mitchell family of Newhall, CA; the Wood family of Castaic, CA and numerous nieces and nephews living throughout the world. The funeral will be Friday, November 17 at 10 a.m. at the Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday, November 16 from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Make-a Wish Foundation of Massachusetts, P.O. Box 97104, Washington, DC. 20090-7104.
