SPRINGFIELD - Theodore S. "Tadj" Giblo Jr., 70, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Mount St. Vincent Care Center. Born March 24, 1938, a son of the late Theodore and Mitcheline (Bednarz) Giblo, he lived in Springfield for the past eleven years and previously in Chicopee. Tadj worked for 15 years for the Hamilton Standard Co. and later retired from Nortek Machine Co. Tadj is survived by his daughter, Mitcheline M. Mekal, of South Hadley; his son, Jody Giblo, of Port St. Lucie, FL; his brother, Joseph Giblo and his wife Gail, of Douglas, MA; his sister, Helen Wolff and her husband Kenneth, of Holyoke; his step-mother, Claire (Viens) Giblo, of Chicopee; three grandchildren, Jessica Mekal, Chrystal Giblo and Alex Giblo; his soul mate, Gail Moore, of Springfield; his uncle, Stephen Bednarz, of Chicopee; his aunt, Leokadya Stepczyk, of Annapolis, MD; his niece and nephew, Rachael and Preston Wolff; several cousins; and his caring nurse, Kathy Bishop. He was predeceased by a sister, Mitcheline Giblo. Funeral services and burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451. Kozikowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
