YORK - Laurence C. Richmond, 93, of 100 Sitler Lane, York, formerly of Oley RD 2, died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Marian A. (Greesley) Rohrbach Richmond. He was the husband of Anita C. (Cleaver) Richmond, who died in May 1986.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Daniel R. Christ Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley. Burial will be in Oley Cemetery in Spangsville. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Richmond was born in Terre Hill. He was the son of the late Louis K. and Irene May (Oberholser) Richmond.
He owned and operated Richmond Machine Shop in Pikeville, retiring in 1989 after many years of service. He was a 1923 graduate of Terre Hill High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Huguent Lodge 377 Free and Accepted Masons in Kutztown, and life member of Pike Township Sportsmen's Association; Goodwill Beneficial Association in Hyde Park, Reading; Oley Fire Company and Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Company in Boyertown.
Mr. Richard also is survived by a stepson, Larry G. Rohrbach of York; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
