Thomas Alexander Sr.
Thomas J. Alexander Sr., 65, of 55 S. 2nd St., Womelsdorf, died this morning in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he was a patient one day.
Born in Richland, he was a son of the late Charles and Hanna (Shanaman) Alexander. He was employed by North American Refractories, Newmanstown, until he retired in 1971.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Womelsdorf, and the Newmanstown and Womelsdorf fire companies.
Surviving are his widow, Emma M. (Lutz) Alexander, two sons: Thomas J. Jr., Robesonia, and Maj. Terry L., with the U.S. Army, stationed in Utica, Mich, three grandchildren.
Also five sisters: Effie Rupp, Mrs. Emily Gray, and Mrs. Elsie Braum, all of Reading and Annie Alexander and Mary, wife of Charles Stump, both of Wernersville.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m., in the Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville, the Rev. James B. Miller officiating. Burial will be made in the Womelsdorf Union Cemetery.
