Harold J. "Bud" Strause, 91, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Pottsville, June 28, 1924, he was a son of the late Roy and Alma Behm Strause.
He was the husband of Phyllis F. Storch Strause, whom he was married to for 65 years.
Bud attended Pottsville schools and was the owner and operator of Strause Upholstery Shop, Pottsville.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville.
Bud was also a member of Pulaski Lodge 216 Free and Accepted Masons and had served as a past worshipful master at the Mountain City Royal Arch Chapter, past high priest and life member of West End Hose Company.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Lee A. Strause Sr., Port Carbon; grandchildren, Courtney Strause, Carlisle, and Lee A. Strause Jr., Port Carbon; great-grandchild, Alyson Strause, Carlisle; two sisters, Marie Hallock, Selingsgrove, and Joan Tregea, Schuylkill Haven; a brother, Ronald Strause and wife, Sandy, Schuylkill Haven; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor James Fidler officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. An additional time for viewing will be held from 9:30 until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
