Donald R. Grammes, 84, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. Grammes, who preceded him in death on June 20, 2023. Donald was born in West Reading, the son of the late Paul I. Grammes and Emma (Snyder) Grammes.
After graduating from Fleetwood High School, Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He dedicated 30 years of his life as an inspector at Carpenter Technology Corporation in Reading.
Donald had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed memorable rides with his late wife, Dorothy. Together, they embarked on adventures that took them to destinations like the Great Lakes and Florida.
He is survived by his sons, Steven M. Grammes and his wife, Teresa Grammes, and Timothy A. Grammes and his wife, Rosa Grammes. Donald will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Dotty, Angel, Daniel, step-grandchildren Steven and Austin, as well as his six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Randall A. Grammes.
Donald was preceded in death by his son, Scott A. Grammes, in 1997.
Services honoring Donald's life will be held privately, with his burial taking place in Fleetwood Cemetery.
