Geraldine Schaeffer of Perinton died peacefully at home after a sudden illness on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at age 79.
She is survived by her husband, David A. Schaeffer; daughters, Kathryn Schaeffer (Philip Ashley), Kristen Schaeffer (Renee Taylor), Karol Eller (Kevin); grandchildren, Jason and Lindsey Eller; and sister, Arlene Amico.
The daughter of George and Frances Alsfasser of Rochester, Gerry graduated from Nazareth Academy and Nazareth College, then worked briefly as a social caseworker in Monroe County and in San Diego .
Gerry and Dave met in 1948 and were married in 1952. Gerry was devoted to her marriage, home, family and friends.
A memorial Mass in celebration of Gerry's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford.
