MARY E. BERGER, 94, OF OAKS Mary E. (Huntzman) Berger, 94, wife of the late Harvey A. Berger, Cherry Lane, Oaks, died, Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at Phoenixville Hospital. Mrs. Berger was born on August 11, 1920, in Norristown, and was a daughter of the late Augustus J. and Bertha G. (Manning) Huntzman. She was a 1938 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Before she retired, Mrs. Berger was assistant secretary and office manager for the Collegeville Building & Loan Assn. Mrs. Berger was a member of St. Mary Of The Assumption Catholic Church, Phoenixville, where she sang in the choir and was treasurer of St. Mary's Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a charter member and past-president of the Audubon-Oaks Lioness Club, and a former Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Berger is survived by her children, Daniel A. Berger, at home, Kathleen M., wife of the late Severo Arroyo, Limerick, and Eileen E., wife of the late Gregory Stagliano, W. Norriton; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son, John F. Berger, and her siblings, Margaret McCann and Clarence Manning. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at St. Mary Of The Assumption Catholic Church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, at church. Burial will be private in Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove Twp., Schuylkill Co.
