Bertha T. Dietrich, 103, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the Laurel Center. She was the wife of Nevin C. Dietrich, who died on October 12, 1987.
Born in Shenandoah, Schuylkill Co., she was the daughter of the late Michael Seweryn and Theresa (Shelitski) Seweryn Yanofsky. Bertha first worked at the Hamburg Tuberculosis Sanitorium for four years. She then owned and operated Dietrich's Keystone Grocery Store in Hamburg from 1945-1957. Bertha was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg.
Bertha is survived by her two daughters-in-law, Janet E. (Miller) Dietrich and Linda E. (Ernst) Dietrich; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her two sons, Ronald C. Dietrich, died January 1, 2010, and Andrew N. Dietrich, died August 6, 2008; one great-grandson; and her brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., 65 S. 4th Street,
Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
