Ethel L. Trupp, 85, of Grill, passed away of natural causes on June 30, 2016, at The
Heritage of Green Hills Manor.
Born in Knauers on November 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Chester J. Stabolepszy and Elva M. (Glass) Folk. She was the step-daughter of the late James A. Folk.
Mrs. Trupp was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School, where she was involved in cheerleading and mixed chorus.
She was employed all her life as a telephone operator, working for Bell Telephone from 1950-1956, Hoffman
Industries from 1968 to 1970 and Gilbert Commonwealth from 1970 to 1991.
Ethel was a member of Christ Yocum's Lutheran Church of Grill, where she served on Church Council and Altar Guild. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Grill Fire Company, member of Verizon Telephone Pioneers, and past leader of Junior Girl Scout Troop #760. She was active in the Reading High School and Southwest Middle School Alumni Associations, and participated in Alvernia University's Senior College.
Ethel will be remembered as a bright, shining light on the various committees she served, the churches she attended and the individuals she encountered over the years. Now she is free to light up the sky.
She was predeceased by her husbands, William J. West Jr. and Kenneth R. Trupp.
She is survived by her beloved children, Sharon West-Whitehouse, partner of Les Pfeifer, of West Chester, and Brian K. Trupp, of Grill; granddaughters, Emily O'Neil, wife of Kyle, of Birdsboro, and Elizabeth West-Whitehouse, of Flying Hills. She is also survived by a brother, Charles R. Stabolepszy, of Grill; and half-brother, Allen J. Folk, of Newmanstown. There are also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
