Anna Oxenreider, 88, of 16 Shellie Street, Lebanon, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 3, 2008. She was the wife of the late Edward E. Witters and Stanley Oxenreider. She was the daughter of the late Victoria (Polenck) and Frenz Szuchaneck. Born in Lebanon on December 22, 1919, she was a faithful member of Saint Benedict the Abbot Church, formerly SS Cyril and Methodius Church, where she was baptized and received all her sacraments.
She worked at Marco Electric in Womelsdorf for 25 years; following her retirement in 1979, she volunteered in the library at the VA Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed swimming and, until a few months ago, was active in the swimming classes at the YMCA. Always showing concern for others, Anna was known to have a generous heart. Her generosity continues even in death through her donation of her body to medical research.
Surviving are her children, Anne Hasting, Patricia Doney, wife of James, Susan Jaros, and Edward, the husband of Candace Witters; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five step-children and their families. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Joseph, John, Frank and Steve; and two sisters, Mary Wida and Catherine Pennington.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16th, at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict's.
