69. South daughters, Lera and Bessie

At the age of six, Bessie traveled to Kansas with her mother, Julia (Knoll) South for her grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary. She was stricken with Diphtheria and was immediately buried in the Osborne Cemetery the same day. A mass vaccination took place on all who were exposed. Her parents are Norman A "Gus" and Julia South. They had moved to California in 1907 and remained there the remainder of their lives. Her parents are buried at Tulare, CA.
