Anna R. Gassert, 86, formerly of Bernville, died unexpectedly Jan. 13, 2009, in Heidelberg Township.
Her husband, John H. Gassert, died in 1989.
Born in Bernville, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Stupp) Firestine.
She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Bernville.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Tina M. Reynolds, Reading; and Amy S., wife of Tony Alvarez, with whom she resided in Mohnton; and nine great-grandchildren: Tammi, Michaeljon, David, Tatiana, Shelby, Anastasia, Antonio, Brittany and Jesus.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Larena M. Smith, in 1992.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville. Burial will be private. Friends are invited to call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
