The present barn was built in 1866 by his grandfather: the house which is an old landmark in the district, was a school building and the original structure was of logs; two additions have been made to it. Mr. De Turck keeps seven horses and twelve head of cattle. he belongs to Oley Castle, No. 119, K. G. E., and to Camp No. 480, P.O.S,. of A., of Manatawny. In politics he is a Democrat.
