Bashore, 91, formerly of Bethel, died Feb. 3 at 1:10 p.m. in the Evangelical Congregational Church Retirement Village, Stone Ridge Campus, Myerstown, where she had resided since October 1999. Her husband, Elmer M. Bashore, died Feb. 5. Born in Bethel, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Minnie (Keeney) Balsbaugh. Bashore was a member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Rehrersburg. Surviving are two sons, Harold E., Bethel, and Kenneth A., Los Angeles; and three daughters: Barbara A. (Bashore) Smith, Bernville; Rita I. (Bashore) Soliday, Bethel; and Joyce L. (Bashore) Deisemann, Shartlesville. Other survivors include two brothers, Carl Balsbaugh, Myerstown, and Lester Balsbaugh, Lititz, Lancaster County; and a sister, Mabel (Balsbaugh) Gerberich, Palmyra, Lebanon County. There also are 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Little Swatara Church. Burial will be in Frystown Cemetery. The Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg, is in charge of arrangements.
