Connie Lutz, 82, passed away peacefully after being lovingly cared for by the staff of Berks Heim for almost two years. Formerly of Temple, Connie fought a 10-year battle and was finally healed of Alzheimer's Disease when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 17, 2013.
Born in San Francisco, CA on April 28, 1931, she was the daughter of Ivor R. and Mary Bell (Simpson) Jones, and Verna (Yeakel) Paulus. She was the widow of Irvin Joseph Lutz since his passing in 1996.
A graduate of Lansdowne High School and Lans-downe Business School, she worked many years as an administrative secretary, most notably for the Glen Mills School from 1956- 1968 and at Manor Care Laureldale from 1986-1990.
In the interim, she was an amazing homemaker, mother and wife. Connie enjoyed sewing, knitting and cro-cheting as well as spending time at the beach in Rehoboth, DE, and Pass-a-grille, FL. She also enjoyed canning and preserving fruits and vegetables for her family. She was a faithful attendee of her grandchildren's sporting events and was known as "Nan" by many of her grandchildren's friends and families.
Connie was a member of Alsace Christian Fellowship, Alsace Manor, and also spent many years as a member at Christ (Little Tulpehocken) Church in Bernville, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, an active member of the Ladies Aid Society and as a youth advisor.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lynda Lutz, Pottstown; and her daughter and son-in-law, Dennis and Mary Beth (Lutz) Feeg, with whom she resided in Temple. She is survived by 5 grandchildren: Melanie Lutz, Limerick; Anita (Lutz) Weller, Barto; Holly Lyn Lutz, Pottstown; Megan A. Feeg, Newark, DE, and Joseph I. Feeg, Temple.
Connie also has 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Christ (Little Tulpehocken) Church, 40 Church Road, (Jefferson Township) Bernville. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. in the church. Internment will be in the adjacent cemetery.
