Clarence R. Althouse, Jr., 92, formerly of Hamburg, a resident at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Phyllis F. (Stump) Althouse, died July 9, 2012. Born in Ontelaunee Twp., he was the son of the late Clarence R. Althouse, Sr., and Sara L. (Lerch) Althouse. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Clarence graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1948. He was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a car salesman for 44 years at various dealerships before retiring from Outten Chevrolet, Hamburg in 1996. He was a member of Hamburg Community Concert Choir for many years, former president of Hamburg Senior Citizens, and enjoyed football and baseball. Clarence also enjoyed gardening, nature, and especially bird watching. He is survived by a son: Keith M. Althouse, Hamburg; and a sister: Janet (Althouse), wife of Richard Schlegel, Yellow House. He was predeceased by three brothers: Harold, John, and Larry Althouse; and a sister: Mary (Althouse) Dietrich. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
