Richard L. Hoch, 62, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the husband of Margaret E. (Lutz) Hoch. They had been married 28 years.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John S. Hoch Sr. and Marie E. (Schade) Hoch.
He was a 1967 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
Richard was a computer technician at Fleetwood Area School District for 35 years, retiring in 2009.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Teutonia Lodge 367 F&AM, Reading; Reading Commandery and Creigh Council 16.
A civil war reenactor, he was a member of the former Durrell's Battery "D" re-enactment group, which was one of the batteries in the movie "Gods and Generals." For many years, Richard loved participating in the Civil War presentations to the Fleetwood Area Middle School. Each year he would do a presentation as a doctor, infantryman and artilleryman.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; daughter, Erika M. (Hoch), wife of Shawn Angstadt, Fleetwood; and a brother, John S. Hoch Jr. of Austin, TX.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at the Mae A Stump Funeral Home Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A visitation with family will be from 10 a.m. to time of service. Masonic lodge services will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.
