Paul T. Stevens was killed during World War II in Saint Lo, France. He is buried in the American Cemetery, St. Laurent, Normandy, France. FAG # 56650404 The marker in the Umbria Cemetery is a memorial marker.
According to Paul's brother, Donald Eugene Stevens, Paul was supposed to be named after his great grandfather Benedict Tarring but his dad misspelled it so he may be the only Tyring in existence.

His delayed obituary appears in the Daily News (Huntingdon County, PA)newspaper, published August 30, 1944. The family had previously resided here.
