oy E. Saul, 91, Heidelberg Township, died Feb. 3, 2008, at 5:30 a.m. of natural causes in Reading Hospital.
He was the widower of Martha A. (Long) Saul, who died May 31, 1984.
Born May 9, 1916, in Tulpehocken Township, he was a son of the late J. Alfred and Jennie (Eisenhower) Saul.
Roy last worked as a knitter for the former Gloray Knitting Mill, Robesonia, until his retirement.
He was a member of Zion & St. John's (Reed's) Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg.
Roy was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps.
He also was a member of Fire Zone 3; Robesonia Fire Company; Womelsdorf Fire Company; Womelsdorf Rod & Gun Club; Marion Rod & Gun Club; and PA Dutch Society; and a life member of the Womelsdorf VFW.
He is survived by three daughters: Shirley A. (Saul) Harman, widow of Charles E., Robesonia; June M. (Saul) Witmer, widow of Paul B. Robesonia; and Gloria J. (Saul), wife of Harold I. Manbeck, Womelsdorf; and a brother, Allen R. Saul, husband of Lillian, Wernersville.
There also are eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Gladys F. Saul, who died Feb. 23, 1988.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Zion & St. John's (Reed's) Lutheran Church, 38 Main St., Stouchsburg, PA 19567. Burial will follow in Heidelberg Cemetery, Heidelberg Township. Friends may call Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of services in the church.
