Franklin C. Freeman, 79, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, passed away on Jan. 4, 2009.
He was survived by his wife, Joan E Freeman. He was the son of the late George S. Freeman and Anna S. (Luckenbill) of Reading.
He is survived by children: Debra Tezak, California, Christine Smith, Utah, Melanie Wilkinson, Utah, and Jody Freeman, Florida; and stepsons, Lee Ohlinger, Montana, and Michael Oh-linger, Texas. Also 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandc-hildren and several great- great-grandchildren. Also siblings, George Freeman, Paul Freeman and Doris Whitehead.
Frank, with his wife Joan, owned and operated Starke Fruit Co. in Fort Lauderdale FL. Frank and Joan worked as a great team together. Frank was always a determined and extremely hard worker. Frank was a very talented mason and custom carpenter. There was no project he could not master or create. His carpentry talent was definitely passed to his son Jody, who creates master carpentry productions in Florida.
Frank loved to spend time and travel with his family, especially with his brothers George and Paul. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to Scottish Rite and also the Shriners and served in the U.S. Army. In his spare time Frank loved to golf, fish, and cook. Frank loved his dogs: Jocko, Bo, and Heidi, and spent hours training and walking them. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
A memorial service will be held at the Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton on Wednesday at 11 A.M. Interment will be in the Forest Hills Memorial Park.
