A. Dorothy Snyder, 93, Wyomissing, formerly of Mohrsville, died Dec. 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where she had resided since February 2008.
Her husband, M. Truman Snyder, died May 22, 1979.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late George I. and Maude L. (Hill) Ide.
She graduated in 1958 as a licensed practical nurse through the Reading School District.
She worked 20 years as a licensed practical nurse for Community General Hospital, Reading, retiring in 1977. She first worked at the Wolf's factory in Shoemakersville.
Dorothy was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Mohrsville.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company.
Surviving are her daughterin-law, Sylvia L. (Spatz) Snyder, Perry Township; and three stepdaughters: Helen (Snyder), wife of Arthur Dornblaser, Wyomissing; Doris (Snyder) Bernheim, Chalfonte, Bucks County; and Grace (Snyder), wife of Robert Miller, Centerport.
There are also a half brother, Paul Dietrich, Perry Township; and a half sister, Elsie (Dietrich), widow of Ray E. Hoffman, Tilden Township.
She is also survived by three grandchildren: Steven T. Snyder, Laurie A. Snyder and Eric L. Snyder; five great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by a son, Donald T. Snyder, on June 30, 1994; a stepson, James Herbert Snyder, on Jan. 17, 2007; a stepdaughter, Emily (Snyder) Bernhart; and three brothers: John H. Ide, William W. Wise and Homer Dietrich.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg, (off-street parking in rear) with the Rev. George J. Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
