Marlin R. Harman, 79, Centre Township, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at 1:16 a.m. in St.Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, where he was a patient since Feb. 18.
He was the husband of Edith N. "Sue" (Nunan) Harman.
Born in Obelisk, Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Kermit G. and Alice S. (Faust) Harman.
He was a 1948 graduate of Pottstown High School.
Marlin was a self-employed farmer on the family farm in Centre Township from 1964 until his retirement in 1993.
He attended Bethany EC Church, Leesport.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, David M. Harman, Brecknock Township; and a daughter, Cynthia A. (Harman), wife of Frederick L. Scharadin, Brecknock Township.
There is a brother, Ronald E. Harman, husband of Flora, Schwenksville, Montgomery County.
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Salina L. Iavarone, wife of Frank; Andrea M. Fry; Brooke A. Bumeder, wife of Keith; and Tyler D. Scharadin; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Cassandra Iavarone.
Marlin was predeceased by a sister, Shirley J. (Harman) Farr Williams, on April 19, 1999.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Bethany EC Church, Main Street, Leesport, with Pastor David Wood officiating. Burial will be private in Salem-Berne U.B. Cemetery, Tilden Township. A visitation with the family will be held in the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to The King?s Academy, a private Christian school, 1562 Main St., Mohrsville, PA 19541. Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
