  [S2] Reading Eagle, on-line, 17 Jan 2017. Bruce Samuel High, 92, died January 14, 2017 in his Temple residence. He was the husband of the late Ruth Edith (Haines) High, who died June 7, 2010. Born April 12, 1924 in Leesport, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Sallie (Ettinger) High. He was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School. Bruce was employed in transportation with Carpenter Technology for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. Bruce was a member of the Muhlenberg VFW Post 5324. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing. Bruce enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving is his son, Bruce S., Jr., husband of Judith M. (Weidner) High of Muhlenberg Township. Also surviving are his two grandchildren: Lori A. (High), wife of Mark A. Delmonico, and Brad D., husband of Lindsay I. (Graul) High. There are also three great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Harrison High and Leah Delmonico. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Stitzel Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
