Geraldine H. "Gerry" Moyer, 84, formerly of Spring Glen, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Monday, March 11, 1929, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Delbert and Carrie Yoder Dunkelberger.
She was a seamstress for area garment factories.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
Gerry enjoyed painting, ceramics, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Marvin L. "Yogie" Moyer, died in 2009. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Shane Harner; and two sisters, Artie Reinfeld and Romaine Hauck.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda R. Harner and her husband Terry of Spring Glen; a son, David M. Moyer, Sr. and his wife Gerogina of Spring Glen; three grandsons, David M. Moyer, Jr. of Williamstown, Clinton L. Harner of Valley View, and Troy A. Harner of Hegins; a granddaughter, Luana L. Moyer of Herndon; six great grandchildren; eight great- great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Schwalm of Mechanicsburg and Roberta Spotts of Reading; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing.
