In the name of God Amen.
I Andrew Grett in Windsor Township in Berks County in the State of Pennsylvania, farmer, am old and weakly, notwithstanding by good mind and memory for which I thank God. But have considered the mortality of man. Therefore make my last will and testament in manner and form following. Impremis and for the first, I recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God, who has given the same, and my body to be buried into the earth from which it was taken. And touching my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with. After all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, I give and bequeath in the following kind & manner.
Firstly, Is it my will and I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Magdalena for use and benefit so long she lives all my whole estate of every description, namely cattle, housal furniture, money and what stands out in bonds, notes or other outstanding debt. Likewise the benefit of our dower of my son Andrew as long as she lives.
Secondly. I give and bequeath unto my son Andrew Grett the sum of one dollar in silver coin, which my herein after named executor shall pay unto him or unto his representative after the decease of my beloved wife Magdalena, which sum of one dollar with the plantation which I have given unto him, shall be his whole hereditary share of all my estate.
Thirdly. And what, after the decease of my beloved wife Magdalena she lieves of my to her Willed Estate shall be willed and given unto my three sons, to wit John Grett, Michael Grett, Nicholas Grett, and unto my two daughters to wit Magdalena Bauman and Barbara Seibert, that shall be given and paid in five equal shares by my herein after named executor, to them or to other of their legal heirs.
Lastly I ordain make and set my son Nicholas Grett executor of this my last will and testament and I make herewith null and void all by heretofore made wills and testaments and declare this and no other my last will and testament. As witness hereof I have undersigned my name and put my seal thereto the … day of .. in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and five.
