1786, February 6, Monday. Ludewig Eschenfelder, a Reformed neighbor, urgently requested me to bury his deceased infant daughter, Anna Barbara, in the Reformed cemetery. Answer: I shall be glad to do so if he will see to it that I am transported there. Because some snow is lying on the ground he had me fetched to the cemetery on a sleigh, and I preached a brief funeral sermon to the large assembly in their church on Matthew 18:10.
