LEWES ? James D. Gruver of Lewes died suddenly Saturday, July 14, 2007, at his residence. He was 60.
Mr. Gruver was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Pottsville, Pa., son of the late John and Anna (Beneck) Gruver.
He was employed by the Cape Henlopen School District as an algebra teacher at the Ninth Grade Academy. He was also an adjunct professor at Wilmington College.
Mr. Gruver was a member of the Henlopen Ruritan Club and a trustee of the Swope Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Susan R. Gruver; two daughters, Laura Baker and her husband William of West Grove, Pa., and Lisa Sidorakis and her husband John of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; seven brothers; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Luther and Grace Schoffstall of Lewes.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call two hours before the service. Interment will be private.
