Shirley E. Flammer, 88, of Windsor Township, passed away on March 20, 2023, at the St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem. Her husband was a United States Army Korea veteran, Eugene F. Flammer, passed away on April 12, 1986. Born in Shartlesville, Shirley was the daughter of the late James A. and Irene M. (Rentschler) Adams. Shirley will be remembered for her dedication to her faith as a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Hamburg, as well as to her community as a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. She was a part of the Ladies auxiliary with Hamburg Fire Company and I.A. She was a member of the Historical Society and loved history. Shirley worked as a nursing assistant at the Berks Heim County Home, retiring from there. Survivors include her children, Jay F. Flammer, and Cindi L. Dunkelberger; grandchildren: Mark, Andrew, Lauren, Matthew, and Trevor; great grandchildren: Scarlett, Hazel, Connor, and Liam: and her cat, Jackie O. In addition to her husband, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Gene K. Flammer and her brother, Eugene Adams. Funeral Services for Shirley will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South Fourth Street, Hamburg, with burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
