Charles S. Wesner, 95, formerly of Shoemakersville, a resident at Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 in Laurel Center. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Shearer) Wesner, who passed away October 19, 2021. Born in Ontelaunee Twp., he was the son of the late Charles E. and Dorothy M. (Hollenbach) Wesner. He was a member of Salem (Belleman?s) Church, Centre Twp. Charles served in the US Army. He later worked in the construction field, for Hill, and later Boltz Brothers, before completing his career working for 18 and a half years at Reading Eagle Company in the maintenance department, where he then retired from. As a second job, he was a bartender at Perry Bar, Windsor Castle Hotel, Dauberville Hotel, Woodland Barn, and Ollie?s Tavern for many years. He was a life member of the Shoemakersville Fire Company, where he was also a former trustee, and Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and selling lawn ornaments. He always enjoyed riding his bicycle. He is survived by two sons: Dennis C. Wesner, husband of Robyn, Lebanon, Bruce A. Wesner, husband of Ginny, Perry Twp.; a daughter: Beverly A. (Wesner) Saul, wife of Craig, Perry Twp.; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Florence Deisher, Mohrsville and Ruth Seidel, Shoemakersville. A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). Inurnment will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery.
