Grant J. Daub, widely known as a policeman at Independent Borough for 25 years, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital this morning at eight o'clock. He was 81 years of age and resided at 602 Canal Street. The veteran policeman was born and raised in Fredericksburg. His death today was attributed to complications after an illness of the last eight months. Daub was a familiar figure to Borough residents and school children in the 25 years he served as borough policeman. He still served as part-time patrolman as late as April of this year, when his health would no longer permit him to be active. He was a member of the Fourth Street Presbyterian Church, the Borough Fire Company and the Fredericksburg lodge of the Patriotic Order, Sons of America. He leaves to survive his widow, Mrs. Lizzie (Ulrich) Daub; one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Forry of Harrisburg; and one son, Eugene H. Daub of Lebanon. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jane Folmer of Fredericksburg, and two brothers, Willoughby Daub, Murry Station, and Irvin C. Daub, Lebanon.
