Leon D. Ochs, 84, of Spring Twp, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at The Reading Hospital. He was a devoted husband to Marlene L. (Clements) Ochs.
Born in Sinking Spring, on August 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Milton and Helen (Heister) Ochs.
He was a 1941 graduate of Wilson High School and a 1951 graduate of Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Leon retired from Textile Machine Works.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wernersville, a member of Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Club, Berks County Federated Sportsmen Club, and a member of the N.R.A. He also taught hunter education for 50 years.
Leon was also a devoted father and a friend to many.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David M. Ochs, husband of Ruth Ann, Spring Twp.; two grandsons, Christopher and Erick; and five great-grand-children.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 130 S. Walnut St., Wernersville, PA 19565, with Rev. Lee A. Diefenderfer officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
