Janet L. Reber, 76, of Hamburg, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2011 in her residence.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Ada M. (Burns) Yocom.
Janet was a 1953 graduate of Hamburg High School. She worked lifelong as a line secretary for Vanity Fair, first in Reading, then New York City, and last in Atlanta, Georgia, until retiring in 1997.
Janet attended First United Church of Christ in Hamburg. She was an active member of the Hamburg Area Historical Society; and a member of the Hamburg Senior Citizens.
Janet is survived by one son: Todd W. Reber, Christiana, Tennessee; two brothers: Donald P., husband of Roselyn J. (Adam) Yocom, and Glenn A. Yocom, both of Hamburg; one sister: Beryl A. (Yocom), wife of Elmer L. Schrack, Upper Bern Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was predeceased by a daughter: Beth Ann Reber, in 1955.
Memorial services will be on Friday at 8:00 p.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Friday 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
