Luella H. Nangle, 97, of Portland, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, at her home.
Born Oct. 27, 1913, in Reading, PA, where she resided until 1957, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Mary (Kirn) Adams.
Her husband, Thomas J. Nangle, died in 1996.
She was employed at various hosiery mills in the Reading area until retiring.
She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Mount Bethel, PA, where she was formerly active in the women?s groups at the church.
Luella is survived by two daughters, Denise Nangle, with whom she resided in Portland, PA, and Carol Farleigh, and her husband Charles of Mount Bethel, PA; a sister, Hermena Posey; sister-in-law Geraldine Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Ada MacLatchie, Evelyn Newkirk, and Georgianna Adams, and five brothers, Charles, Russell, John, Melvin, and Robert Adams, all died earlier.
Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Community Presbyterian Church, 1755 S. Delaware Drive, Mt. Bethel, PA. Call Saturday, noon to 1 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Portland, PA.
