State College, Pennsylvania - A long-term resident of Myerstown, PA and most recently of State College, PA Marion died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. She most recently was a resident at Harmony of State College, PA.
She was the wife of Albert P. Houtz, who died February 3, 1998.
Born on December 22, 1925, in Bethel PA. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Knapp and Sadie M. (Lutz) Knapp.
A 1943 graduate of Bethel High School, Marion was a member of Myerstown UCC. She owned and operated Marion's Beauty Shoppe in Myerstown. She operated her shop until 2006 retiring after 57 years.
Marion was a member of the Friendly Sisters of Myerstown UCC, Lebanon Flower Club, and the VFW Auxiliary, Myerstown.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Houtz; and her brother, John Loose and Richard G. Knapp.
She is survived by her brother, James (Bonnie) Knapp; nephews; David Knapp, Jeffrey Knapp, Tina Spellman, Donna Wardleand Randy Loose.
Services and Internment will be private.
